Adding a video to your post or page can be a valuable addition, or even constitute the main subject. Fortunately it is easily embed a movie made by the creators of WordPress. Since version 2.9 it is possible to simply place a link to paste into the page or post and thus in a movie without making use of complex code or a plugin.


This not only works with YouTube links, but also:

YouTube (only public videos and playlists - Private videos will not be shown)
Vimeo
Dailymotion
blip.tv
Flickr (movies and pictures)
viddler
Hulu
Qik
Revision3
Scribd
Photobucket
Poll Daddy
WordPress.tv (Video Press-type videos)

Twitter (from WordPress 3.4 +)
It only works with the above sites and not sites of unknowns. This is designed to ensure safety.

 

How do you (YouTube) video on your WordPress website?

1. Go to www.youtube.com and copy will find a link from the address bar.

2. Go into the WordPress post and paste it the YouTube (or other supported) link and press "publish".

3. View the page and if it is now the video embedded on the page online!
