ISSUED FOR PUBLIC WELFARE There Are Important Things Needed For Your Mind And Emotions To Be Healthy As important as your physical health is, just as important is your emotional and mental health. If you stop to think about it, you will realize this is true. They believe that as long as they are physically healthy then they will automatically feel better emotionally and mental health-wise. To a certain extent this is true, because when you are feeling good physically, it is easy to be upbeat. Other times, however, you need to take extra steps to protect and step up your mental and emotional health. There are things you can do to improve your health in both mind and emotions, and will discuss several of them. Practice some self discipline. If you have ever been depressed, or at least very low, then you know what it feels like to want to give up, and do things you would never even think about normally. Feeling better by wallowing, as a way to help ourselves, is what a lot of people do. To a certain extent, this is true. Life is hard when things are going good, so once things start falling apart, it is easy to give up, and really hard to turn things around. Don't be stressed out and overworked, because that can cause you to be depressed, but stay busy, and force yourself to be disciplined, because that could be the best thing you can do for your health, both mentally and emotionally. When you keep going, even though it hurts, you send the message to your head and heart that life is still going on and this can help you feel a lot better. Think about someone else, rather than only yourself. When we feel down or depressed it can be difficult to find the energy to help ourselves. You will be amazed at what a boost of good feelings you can get from doing something nice for someone else. Fix your mental and emotional health by finding someone to be kind to. If you want to try an experiment, take one whole day and think of everybody ahead of yourself, by being kind to all of them, letting them go ahead of you in lines and more, and see if your emotional aren't raised at the end of the day. It is good to have a dog or cat. Studies have shown that elderly people experience fewer health problems when they have a pet. The same is true even if you are not elderly. Your mood can be greatly elevated by having a pet and the unconditional love that is shared, along with having the responsibility of being needed, if only by a pet. Anything is better than living alone, even having only a fish. There are many things to do for your mental and physical state, but it is up to you to choose them. Advice that can help can come from many places, but ultimately it is up to you to take what you have learned, even if from a mental health professional, and put it into practice.
